Unfortunately, there are not many connections.
Transport from the airport to the downtown
- Bus - take no. 61, change at “Trnavské mýto” for tram no. 4 (the direction “Pri kríži”), and then get out at the station “Botanická záhrada” (Botanical garden), where after crossing the street to the left (using a bridge) you will see 2 tall buildings of the Hotel Družba with red balconies. You may also leave the tram in the downtown at the st. “Most SNP” (Bridge of SNP), if your hotel is situated in the centre.
- Taxi – a taxi waiting at the airport could be too expensive, we therefore recommend hiring, e.g., a Bolt taxi via Internet.
Vienna Airport
There are plenty of connections from different world airports.
Transport from the Vienna Airport to Bratislava
There are several companies operating between the Vienna Airport and Bratislava (see details on Internet). You may book a ticket online, but be sure that the bus will stop at the „Most SNP“ (Bridge of SNP), just after crossing the Danube river (the downtown station).
Some of the hotels are within a walking distance from the bus stop (e.g., Park Inn), so you do not need to hire a taxi, or to look for a tram or bus connection.
Trams to Hotel Družba (and the Faculty meeting place) – leave the bus station “Most SNP”, and after crossing the street at pedestrian lights take tram no. 4, and then get out at the station “Botanická záhrada” (Botanical garden), and after crossing the street to the left (using a bridge) you will see 2 tall buildings of the Hotel Družba with red balconies.
Tickets for trams/buses you may buy at ticket machines installed at stops. Do not forget to validate the ticket inside the tram/bus.
Train
You may also use a train (e.g., from Vienna) going either to the Bratislava main station or to the Petržalka station.
From the Bratislava st. take the tram no. 1, and at the final stop (Námestie Ľ. Štúra) change for the tram no. 4.
From the Petržalka st. take the bus no. 91, and change at st. “Most SNP” for the tram no. 4.
